Yaar, sometimes I feel like I don't even want to panic, but panic likes me so much that it refuses to leave me alone. 😠We try to stay calm, tell ourselves everything is fine, and remind ourselves that we have prepared well. But still, that little exam anxiety keeps coming back. And honestly, it can happen even when you have studied properly.
If you are preparing for JEE Main 2027 and the January attempt is making you nervous, first of all, take a deep breath. You are not alone in this. When an important exam comes closer, it's natural to think about the result, the competition, the marks and what will happen if things don't go as planned. Sometimes, we get so busy worrying about the exam that we forget how much effort we have already put into preparing for it.
But think about it. Will panicking help you solve an extra question? Will worrying all night make you remember a formula better? Probably not. Too much stress can actually make it harder to concentrate and recall things you already know.
So, what can you do when you feel that anxiety building up?
My suggestion is simple. Don't make your entire life revolve around the exam. Yes, JEE Main is important, and you should take your preparation seriously. But you also need some time to relax. Watch your favourite motivational video, listen to a song you love, take a short walk, or just sit quietly for a while. Do something that helps you feel like yourself again.
And if you need a little motivation to get back on track, you can explore the learning resources on the Motion Education website and Motion app. Along with your regular preparation, you can watch motivational videos by NV Sir when you're feeling low or doubting yourself. Sometimes, hearing the right words at the right time is enough to bring back that energy and remind you why you started. His motivational videos can give you that extra push to get up, reset your mind and return to your preparation with a better attitude. So, whenever you feel like giving up or overthinking everything, take a small break and let yourself recharge before getting back to work.
When you return to studying, keep things realistic. Revise the chapters you have already covered, practise previous-year questions, and take mock tests to understand where you need improvement. You don't have to study every single minute just because the exam is approaching. Getting enough sleep and taking short breaks are important too.
Also, please don't compare your preparation with someone else's. Maybe your friend has completed the entire syllabus, or someone online claims to be scoring 250 marks in every mock test. That's their journey. You have your own strengths, weaknesses and pace. Focus on what you can improve instead of spending your time worrying about what everyone else is doing.
And listen, even if you have prepared everything, you might still feel nervous. That's okay. You don't need to wait until you feel completely fearless to do well. Sometimes, you just have to accept that you're nervous, take a breath, and continue with what you need to do.
If panic shows up again, remind yourself that you have been working towards this. You have solved questions, revised concepts and spent hours preparing. Trust that effort. On difficult days, focus on one chapter, one revision session or one question at a time instead of thinking about the entire exam.
You cannot control every question that appears in JEE Main, but you can control how you prepare, how you rest and how you respond to stress.
So, bro, my final suggestion is this: stay calm, trust your preparation, and don't let fear take away the confidence you worked so hard to build. You know you've prepared, and now it's time to give yourself a chance.
I know the exam feels big right now, but don't forget that you are bigger than one stressful moment. Keep going, take care of yourself, and give it your best.
You've got this, yaar.
